At the Royal Albert Hall benefit show for Teenage Cancer Trust, Alan Wilder joined the band onstage for a surprise rendition of Somebody. While many people have now seen this legendary performance via fan videos on YouTube, this particular clip has been unseen until now. Here is the soundcheck, recorded earlier in the afternoon. Thanks to a tip from fellow blogger Peter (and fans from the depeche-mode.com fan forum), I was sent a link to a live webcam at the Red Rocks venue. Approximately every 20 to 60 seconds, a webcam image on the Red Rocks web site would update with a back row view of the venue.

After setting up a small AppleScript ("do shell script curl...", for the geeks in the crowd), I let the script run until very early the next morning. A quick "Open Image Sequence" option in QuickTime, adding the very cool Jonsi Mix of "Come Back" (available on the white marble vinyl 7" of Peace), and here you go. A time lapse of the entire show, from the crowd entering the venue, to the very last crew member leaving around 4am. Enjoy!

You've heard about the almost near-mythical "Meet & Greet" events before the concerts, right? You know...the events that promoters and radio stations organize where fans can meet the band? Well, here is a bit of the Meet & Greet from Anaheim. In case you are curious, the item hanging on the lens at the end is one of Dave's gloves.
