Toast Hawaii - the album...
post date: March 31st, 2008 (updated Apil 1st, 2008)
When the band were recording their "Black Celebration" album, the boys took a break, and recorded a full album of "oldies". Named "Toast Hawaii" (after Fletch's favorite food item at the recording studio cafeteria, and later used as the name of Fletch's record label), the album has not been heard outside of the "inner circle" of Depeche Mode's friends since the 1986 recording...until now.
All copies of the album were thought lost, until Mr Gore found a cassette copy of "Toast Hawaii" in a box of old cassettes. After extensive remastering, the project is ready to be released.
Following recent web releases by bands such as Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, the "Toast Hawaii" album will be a web release. Starting April 8th, fans will be able to purchase multiple formats of the album:
$10: The full album in your preferred digital format (AAC, MP3, FLAC, WAV)
$20: The full album in digital format, along with a copy of the album on compact disc, autographed by Fletch.
$40: The full album in digital format, along with a copy of the album on compact disc, not autographed by Fletch.
A sample of "Tutti Frutti" is available below. A full micro-site will be up within a few days. Stay tuned!
Tutti Frutti - 30 second mp3 sample
April 1st update: Yes, this was a prank. Along with the "Tutti Frutti" link above not working, the entire web site was hard-coded to randonize all the links on every page of the site. You were not going crazy, and neither was your computer. While the band did record a set of covers during Black Celebration, the recordings are not being offered for sale. Thank you for all of your emails and message board posts.

Changes for the Announcement List
post date: March 14th, 2008
Our first Message Board dates way back to 1998, when we were part of the Warner Brothers message board. In 2001, Fletch suggested that we should have our own forum, and the Depeche Mode Message Board (DMMB) was born.
From that board, we also started our "Announcement List", an email list alerting DM fans to site updates, special concert announcements, et cetera. When the list became too big for the board, Warners was nice enough to offer assistance.
Currently, we use the Warner email service to send out our emails, but that is about to change. Come April 2nd, we will once again be using the Message Board to send out the Announcement List.
What does this mean for you? Well, if you are currently subscribed to our Announcement List, and DO NOT currently have a free account on our Message Board, you better make one quickly! If you already have a message board account, no worries. The transition will be invisible for you. Also, we will start having contests again shortly, and the prizes will be given out exclusively to members of the Message Board. So, if you don't already have an account, sign up today. it's free, easy, and a great way to meet new fans!
Note: Just because you have a Message Board account does not mean you have to participate on the board.

Depeche Mode on Facebook
post date: March 14th, 2008
First, we had our Message Board, which gave fans an opportunity to connect with each other. Then we embraced MySpace, giving fans an opportunity to network with the millions of other MySpace users.
Now, Depeche Mode have come to Facebook!
If you are a Facebook user, be sure to add Depeche Mode to your friends (and that goes for MySpace users as well)!
