Notes:
A lot of names, for very few remixes. A summary:
Everything Counts "Bomb The Bass Mix" = "Tim Simenon / Mark Saunders Mix"
Everything Counts "Absolut Mix" = "Alan Moulder Mix"
Strangelove "Highjack Mix" = "Bomb The Bass Mix" = "Hijack Mix"
Nothing "Zip Hop Mix" = "Justin Strauss Mix"
All the live tracks are taken from the album "101".
There are a variety of live versions of "Everything Counts". Our friends over at
depmod.com have concluded the following, in their forum:
1) 7" Version (the longest) - on The Singles 86>98
2) 12" Edit - on the UK promotional 7" single
3) promotional Radio Edit (the shortest) - on the UK promotional 7" single
4) Album Version (different fade to 7" version) - on "101"
5) Video Edit (with a fade-in intro and a special edit towards the end) - on The Videos 86>98 home video
This was the first Depeche Mode release to be released on the 10 inch vinyl format. Inside of the fliptop cover of the numbered 10 inch release was a window decal, and some postcards.
The "Remix Edit" of "Nothing" is exactly that - a short version. The "In Larger Amounts" version of "Everything Counts" (on the 10" single) is the original 1983 12 inch mix. The "Reprise" of "Everything Counts" is the beatless end part of the 1983 original 12 inch mix.
